I just joined the group.. Trying to meet some Arabic people in the Walnut Creek area (Syrian or Lebanese in particular ).Just noticed your interest in Nizar Qabbani's poetry.. He's my very favorite poet of all.. Hope we get to meet & share interests..

Ahlan Iyad, Nizar Qabbani is one of my favorite Arab poets!!!!! I am reading his book "100 Love Poems" now. I just love it! It's in Engish and Arabic. Yes, the reaon I am going to the poetry is event so that I can hear Qabbani! I look forward to seeing you again!

Iyad - we are going to leave at either 11:59-PM Saturday or 12:01-AM Sunday - David Armstrong (currently in France) will be joining me at the North Rim Saturday afternoon to leave together. He's a very strong hiker. If he's responding to email, he's at [masked] so I suggest if you want to do this hike, you contact him to share in the rental car expense from Vegas to the North Rim and back. I'll be around until May 22 and am glad to answer questions about water and logistics.

It was a pleasure meeting you Iyad. I hope i can see you in the near future.
