Salvatore Licitra is her mismatched lover, and all-star Verdians Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Ferruccio Furlanetto round out the cast.

This Opera in 4 Acts is set in Spain in 1519

Ernani is an operatic dramma lirico in four acts by Giuseppe Verdi to an Italian libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, based on the play Hernani by Victor Hugo.

Musically, this work is exquisite, and cannot fail to thrill: the full-throated choral episodes, the haunting arias and duets, the subtle interweaving of three and four vocal parts carrying the dramatic nodes of the story strongly forward, all in a ceaseless stream of melodic invention, make Ernani a wonderful work, beautifully played, staged and presented, in splendid style both visually and musically.
It is surprising that it is not performed more often.

You can park in the covered parking under the theater by entering from the Wolfe entrance, or you can park in the Sears outdoor parking and walk through the mall to the theater

With a credit card at the purchasing booths right in front of the Box Office. (Be aware, these Live from the Met Operas are very popular, I strongly recommend you purchase your ticket as early as possible)



MEETING TIME
• These performances get full very quickly. So get your ticket ahead of time and please be punctual.
• I usually arrive between 8:15 and 8:30.
• I recommend you arrive no later than 8:35 and meet me in line so that we can sit together.
• Theater patrons frown on holding too many seats so arrive early.
• You will find me on the first row just above the center of the theater walkway.
• Doors open at 8:45.
• Please indicate in your RSVP you have your ticket in hand.
