"Coco Before Chanel" and pre-movie snack at Sprout Cafe

Aquarius Theatre (map)

Selected By: Yuliana

For those who cannot make it to Russ' group on Friday (i.e. moi :P) I'm going on Sunday and I thought some of you who missed it might want to come with me. We will get a quick (and healthy) bite at Sprout Cafe beforehand at 5.00. It's a school night... yes.. Sunday is... so I'm going to try to return you home early.... :)

Sprout Cafe
168 University Ave
Palo Alto, CA 94301
[masked]

For those who are joining the movie only, I'll meet you in front of the theater at 6.30. I don't have any (visible) tattoo ;-) or any marking, so you just have to stare at my photo for 3 minutes, and I'll do the same. Please get your own ticket before the show. It probably will be less crowded than Friday, but still...

About Coco before Chanel...

A little girl who is sent with her sister to an orphanage in the heart of France, who waits in vain every Sunday for her father to come for her…

A cabaret performer with a weak voice who sings to an audience of drunken soldiers…

A humble seamstress, who stitches hems at the back of a provincial tailor's shop…

A young, skinny courtesan, to whom protector Etienne Balsan offers a safe haven, amongst the idle and decadent…

A woman in love who knows she will never be anyone’s wife, refusing marriage even to Boy Capel, the man who returned her love…

A rebel who finds the conventions of her time oppressive, and instead dresses in her lovers' clothes…

This is the story of Gabrielle Chanel, who begins her life as a headstrong orphan, and through an extraordinary journey becomes the legendary couturier who embodied the modern woman and became a timeless symbol of success, freedom and style.

Cheers,
Yuliana

I messed up the dinner venue, didn't realize Sprout closes at 5 pm on Sundays, we ended up at Taiphoon around the corner. Audrey Tautou gave a a stellar performance as usual.

Good food, great movie and wonderful people to share it all with.

Small boo-boo that the original place we planned to eat was closing at 5, but there were plenty of places nearby, and we picked one. Enjoyed the conversation and the movie.
